7 Day Weekend
Notes
I wrote this for my old 80's band Ol'55... a Chuck Berry Monday to Friday song. I enjoyed writing it. It's a TERROR to sing live, more words than the bloody dictionary and all in 3 minutes. We don't play this one often. I re-wrote this with my session guitarist Martin Cilia and Mr "Just A Suburban Boy" Dave Warner, we added the extra 7 Day Weekend bits - a big improvement... thanks guys.

Lyrics
Wake up Monday morning fuzzy feeling in my head
But it's worth it and I cherish every moment that I had
My only hope is that the rest of time don't drag
Cos' I'm looking forward to this Friday night real bad
Every night I toss and turn and have the same old dream
All I want in life is a Seven Day Weekend
Tuesday morning rising with a ringing of the bell
Am I gonna make it through - well it's very hard to tell
87 hours is a long long time
Especially when you have only one thing on your mind
Wednesday sun is shining but it's not the way I feel
I'm only looking forward to a turning of the wheel
I have a funny feeling of it not turning far
That wheel is on a barrow not on a speeding car
Every night I toss and turn and have the same old dream
All I want in life is a Seven Day Weekend
SEVEN DAY WEEKEND x 3
BRIDGE
Everybody's dreaming of a Seven Day Weekend
Five days is just a waste of time then
I'm only waiting for the ultimate time when
Everybody has a Seven Day Weekend.
Now it's Thursday morning Friday bringing up the rear
I'm getting so excited day by day it's getting near
I only wish I could have kept on sleeping through the day
Is there anybody out there who can find another way
Friday morning's here and it's certainly a thrill
Tonight is almost here but I gotta wait until
I've made it through another week and now the show begins
Just another case in point of he who waits will win.
