Keep Those Home Fires Burnin'NotesThis is one of the songs I wrote, when after writing the 1st CD. I figured I'd better start exploring more the open D tuning I use, and it really paid off, this song really hangs together well, a bit bluesy, a bit rocky, a bit Bo-Diddley. Clem O'Sheehan came to record a song at my studio and he had the first part of the riff, I said can I borrow that and make a song out of it, so I took it from there, from acorns, trees grow! The title comes from Chuck Berry from his "Hail Hail Rock 'n Roll" movie a decade ago, he said, basically, "do what you want when you're away, you just gotta 'keep those homefires burning' when you get home"... which sounds like a very convenient arrangement for Chuck! We play this song every gig, Derek and I often do a drum duet in the middle, the audience LOVE it (and so do we).

LyricsYou’ve gotta keep those home fires burnin’ I work hard every day, back up every night Nite after nite, you’re all alone I’m north of your love, south of your heart But I'll soon be you're city bound
